Combine Contractor #54 served as my first experience with the Hammer Editor. This map makes use of the assets and .fgd files from Valve Corporation’s Half-Life 2 as well as some custom assets pulled from other Source Engine games. Produced over a semester long period, Combine Contractor #54 was a learning experience which allowed me to grasp the basics of first-person story level design and basics of a dedicated 3D level editor. With this map I sought to focus primarily on atmosphere and environmental storytelling.
