Vertical Slice - Incarcerum

To conclude the semester each Senior Capstone team chose a prototype concept to continue working with. For the clock_angry team this was the third prototype: Untitled Bossrush Game. The vertical slice created was then shown off for consideration of moving forward to Senior Production in the spring 2020 semester.
With this vertical slice the team chose to focus on and refine the Echo and Augment Systems. The Echo System entailed the use of past versions of oneself as allies in combat. When the player dies and then re-joins combat they will be joined by a ghost of themself, which then reenacts all previous movements made by the player. The Augment System was a system of modifications and abilities the player could apply to themself before entering each combat round. These modifications would translate to their Echoes as well and could be used strategically.
This vertical slice of Incarcerum was intended as a proof of concept. With this iteration the team strove to show off technical functionality of the game’s core systems.
